Engineers from NASA's Near Space Network and the Electronics 3D Printing group at Goddard Space Flight Center developed and tested a 3D printed antenna using Fortifys technology. This project demonstrated cost-effective design and manufacturing of efficient antennas that meet industry standards. The antenna was tested with relay satellites and launched on a weather balloon from NASAs Columbia Scientific Facility in Palestine, Texas. Achieved in just three months, this development marks a significant advancement in producing low-cost communication equipment for future space missions.

Panasonic is supporting ETH Zurich students in developing a robot, known as SpaceHopper, designed for asteroid exploration. The primary challenge the team faces is the low-gravity conditions on asteroids, which complicates robot mobility. To address this, ETH Zurich's team is designing the robot with three legs to enable controlled leaps, which they believe will be the most effective mode of travel in such environments.
